Earlier this year I received a message from one of my closest friends that she had a work trip in Hal, England and wanted to swing by Brussels while she was on this side of the pond. It seemed like forever between that first message, the actual booking of the trip, and Val's arrival in Brussels.
Val came over right after our birthdays and brought us the most amazing gift we could have ever imagined - macaroni and cheese. I know it may sound strange to most reading this, but we have yet to find macaroni and cheese in BRU. There is macaroni and there is cheese... Just not velvet shells and cheese. Needless to say, this gift didn't last for long!
Val's visit was less touristy as she wanted to see us, our pets, our house, our neighborhood, and of course...see Manneken Pis and try a waffle. Just as we shared insight into our new lives with Val, we'd like to also share that with you.
