Last Sunday kicked my Butte du Lion!

Last Sunday, Jamie and I decided to visit the Butte du Lion. This monument sits on a huge artificial hill in the middle of the Battlefield of Waterloo. It is 226 steep steps high and represents Napoleon's last stand.

226 steps is an easy climb, right?!?! No!

I lost all sensation in my legs on step 221 and did not regain feeling until 2 days later. The view, however, was worth the exhaustion. We looked out over all of the battlefield, Waterloo and the entire country-side.

Check out the rest of our pictures on Flickr. In the meantime, I am going to hit the gym in preparation for the reenactment of the Battle at Waterloo this summer.
